This was a good performance by the Lions who fielded a squad of 25 players in a training game against Blyth. Park opened the scoring with a trade mark try by James McFarlane who barrelled his way over for a try which was converted by Phil Morse.
Blyth struck back in the second of the four sessions with a really well executed try, finished off by their full back in the right hand corner, but Park extended their lead with a try by Phil Morse who on the night was Park's stand out back.
In the third spell Jimmy Baldwin scored an unconverted try, and in the final session Phil Morse scored the second of his two tries after a fine break in midfield by new boy Colin Murphy.
The Park coaches should be pleased with this performance, confirming that much of the pre season training is beginning to pay off. There were again notable performances by some of the Park Academy, particularly Johnny Dubois and Phil Thompson, and also a good display by Ian Elliot in the back row staking his claim for a first team spot.
