Percy Park remain rooted to the foot of North 2 East with a third successive defeat, this time at the hands of Old Crossleyans. Old Crocs were promoted to the league this season and so far have a 100% record. Park on the day, were out played by the Yorkshire side and will have to work hard to turn things around on the pitch. It was the home side who struck first however with a penalty from the boot of Marcus Rutter on 15 minutes, but this seemed to sting the visitors into action, and almost immediately responded with a try by Australian Danian Seeto, from a catch and drive close to the Park line, with scrum half Joel Hinchcliffe converting. A further penalty by Hinchcliffe shortly before half time took the score to 3 - 10. Soon after the restart, Park were harshly penalised for pulling down a maul and from the resulting penalty lock Matt Horne was able to drive over the line for the try which was converted again by Hinchcliffe. Old Crossleyans had much of the play and territory whereas on too many occasions the home side gave away easy possession. It was on one such occasion when Dan Bancroft on the left wing made a break from just outside his 22 passing the cover defence for a fine individual try. With only 5 minutes remaining Bancroft was on the score sheet again with another individual try despite a last gasp tackle on the line by Liam Blackburn covering across from the opposite wing. Park responded in the best possible way with a good break through mid field by David Griffiths with Marcus Rutter on hand to take the inside pass to beat the last man and score under the posts to make his own conversion a formality. Old Crocs weren't finished yet however and from the restart with the Park defence asleep, flyhalf Tony Waite shaped to kick left but switched to the right and a fortuitous bounce of the ball allowed Tongan, Frazer Maiatatonga to beat two despairing tackles to touch down in the corner to take the final score to 10 - 32. Although the Ist XV result was disappointing, rugby is thriving at Percy Park who were able to turn out 5 sides on the day, a feat many clubs would be envious of. Park Lions ran out winners at Northern with a last minute penalty to take the game 24 - 26. Park Pumas with some experienced old heads in the team overpowered Northern 3rds 42 = 12. Percy Park Marauders won their first game of the season away to Seghill II's 12 - 21. The colts made up the 5th side on the day losing narrowly away to Carlisle.
