Unfortunately Carlisle RFC have had to rearrange our away game which was due to be played this weekend. Carlisle contacted me late on Thursday evening to rearrange our kick off time to 1pm due to their senior club rearranging a fixture for both their second and third teams. Carlisle stated that they no longer had the pitch space, changing rooms or the ability to cater for our visit. As you are all aware our travel arrangements had been made and due to the late hour of the phone call it would have been very unfair and a logistic difficulty to get everybody including a bus to Percy Park for 10:30am. Carlisle are now exploring the possibility of playing the game on Saturday 07/04/2012 with a 3pm kick off. Carlisle have apologised and it does genuinely appear as if the fixture congestion was beyond their control. A couple of suggestions were made including the idea that Carlisle travelled to ourselves. Carlisle felt that again, due to the late hour of notification , like ourselves they would have had difficulty in contacting players and changing peoples social arrangements to accommodate the change of venue.
The fixture congestion amongst senior teams has also had an effect on our away game against Morpeth. Morpeth have found themselves in a similar situation, however they have had early notification and have promptly contacted Percy Park. The kick off for this game has now been brought forward to 12:15pm. That means we will meet at Morpeth at 11:15am.
