Bad news on Easter Day
Stan, Edward ”Percy” Holmes was admitted to hospital on Monday 26t hMarch 2018 and was diagnosed as having acute myeloid leukaemia. He sadly died on Easter Saturday.
Stan was a great supporter of Park. Nicknamed “Percy” in his university days, it stuck with him most of his life.
He played for the first team apart from university and army service from the late 1940’s until the early 1960’s until work took him to London where he played for Catford Bridge and Bromley.
He served Park as Captain in 1959- 60 and was always a staunch supporter of the club, travelling across from Windermere on two or three times a season to lend his support to the team.
He will be a great miss to the club, and all those who knew him.
