Percy Park 10 Blaydon 38

Percy Park hosted Blaydon in their first Sunday fixture without a number of county players and following hard on the heels of a bruising encounter with Carlisle the day before. Lots of changes were made to the side to ensure everyone fit got a runout.

Park come up against a big, strong side that mauled very well and took all their chances, though spoiled an overall impressive display with skulldugery resulting in David Owens being taken to hospital with facial injuries.
Park drove well around the fringes and competed well in the loose but couldn't stop Blaydon's well organised catch and drive resulting in three from four first half tries against a single Park penalty kicked from Jack Jeffery. Half time score Park 3 Blaydon 26.
Park upper their game into the second half but struggled with a number of injuries and enforced substitutions. Using the wind the majority of the half was played in the Blaydon half with Scot Talyor forcing himself over from close range following a number of penalties conceeded by Blaydon. Jack Jeffery converted to get Park into double figures. Blaydon always looked dangerous and scored another two tries to complete their victory.
Park can hold their heads high as they never gave in up against a fully fledged under 18's side. Ball retention seemed much improved over the Carlisle game with a number of players turning in very creditable performances.

Final Score Percy Park 10 Blaydon 38
