One disgruntled home supporter commented after the game, "Sheffield were lucky to get nil", and although harsh, the home side rarely looked like scoring, as Percy Park completed the double over the South Yorkshire side.

Percy Park made the journey to Driffield hoping to continue the form which saw recent victories against Durham City and Whitley Bay Rockcliff. There were two enforced changes to the side with Michael Langlands coming in at blind side for Greg Dixon who decided to take a last minute holiday (in the rugby season!), and David Griffiths moved to fullback for the holidaying Liam Casey.
