In a hard fought Northumberland Senior Cup match with Berwick initially taking the lead, Park hit back to win 29 -13.
Park travelled through the smog of the A19 with a hastily rearranged side, and an ample supply of back issues of the beano for the back of the shorts, in anticipation of receiving six of the best from the league champions.
Although the scoreline doesn't look great from a Park perspective, there were some positives and the side never gave up. At half time and 48 points behind, the signs were looking ominous particularly when the wee man in charge of the score board when in search of some bigger numbers from his pals at the ajoining cricket club.
In a lack lustre performance against a Driffield side who were in a losing streak, Park went down with a wimper not a bang, and will be playing rugby in Durham and Northumberland 1 next season.
There were very few positives to take from this game, other than a good debut by young Adam Fidler in the back row, but in truth Park were second best in most areas of the game and leaked tries wide out once again.
The Driff wingers capitalised on a disorganised Park defence scoring 4 of their 7 tries wide out. Park's consolation try game from skipper Greg Dixon who scored in the corner after a chip kick by scrum half Jimmy Baldwin.
