PERCY PARK 9 – 9 OLD BRODLEIANS

Percy Park and Old Brods shared the league points in a game where both sides cancelled each other out. The point moves Park up to sixth in North 1 East, but in a league where the bottom team can beat the top team, and the second bottom team beats the third top side away from home, it is clear that any of the clubs from fifth downwards could be drawn into a relegation dogfight come the end of the season. 

Percy Park 31 - 8 Gateshead

Gateshead returned to Percy Park yesterday for the rearranged fixture and this time, after declining the opportunity to play the last one, it was 'Game On'. The pitch was in remarkable condition bearing in mind the amount of snow and rain in the last two weeks, and although Park had made a couple of changes to the pack, they were raring to go to make amends for the earlier defeat at Gateshead.

Park's 1st XV game against Old Crocs is off as the pitches at Preston Avenue are under six inches of snow. The Lions and Marauders games at Alnwick are on, as it appears the main snow fall was down the east coast.

MORPETH 21 – 3 PERCY PARK

With only four points separating sixth place and second bottom in North 1 East, this game was vital to both teams, but in the end it was the home side who took the spoils after a solid second half performance.

 

Park were without skipper Brett Sylph and  Andy Dunn, both injured against Ilkley the previous week, so Michael Langlands moved to number eight and Tom Pollock came in at hooker. The visitors kicked off with the slope advantage, and for much of the first half dominated possession and territory, but could only come away with a solitary penalty from the boot of Rutter for all their efforts.
