Cup success for Academy under17's.

Percy Park Academy entered under 17 and under 18 sides into the county cup 7's hosted by Berwick on Sunday 13th September.
The under 17's played some fantastic team rugby throughout the competition, defeating Morpeth 29 - 7, Tynedale 26 - 0, Ponteland 26 - 0, and Tynedale again in the final 36 - 7. Defensive organisation was the mainstay of each performance with work in training alongside Park's senior players clearly reaping benifit.
The under 18's sufferered with the withdrawl of a number of players due to injury but put up very creditable performances, defeating Rockcliff and Gosforth before losing to a very strong North Shields side in the semi finals.
Many thanks to parents for transport and tremendous support over the whole of the competition.

Percy Park 62 Morpeth 15

Park Academy hosted a sponsors day and photoshoot prior to kickoff to thank all parties who have contributed so generously to the programme.

Park fielded a bench full of backs due to injury and players on county duty. Kicking off with the slope Park had the edge in most areas, scoring four trys through Alex Clarke, Liam McStay and Sean Williamson (2), though leaking a well worked try from Morpeth from long range. Half time score was 26 - 7. Morpeth were unable to field a proper front row after the break so the game went to uncontested scrums.

Percy Park Academy Saturday team hosted Consett for the first league game of the season in perfect weather conditions, and using the first team pitch (with grateful thanks to the seconds!).
Park played some neat attacking rugby throughout the game, though unforced errors and imprecise passing along with penalties for ruck offences kept Consett in the game.

George Albert Duhrin

It is with much sadness that Percy Park RFC have to announce the passing of our President Albi Duhrin. Albi passed away peaceably on the morning of Wednesday 10^th May 2023 following a short illness. Our thoughts and wishes are with his family who respectfully request that they are allowed a period of privacy. In due course Percy Park will inform of funeral arrangements and family wishes.

He will be deeply missed by many and no match day Saturday to come will feel the same.
