Statement from WBR

'' Following an interim site meeting this morning on the AGP build I can confirm that there is no realistic prospect that the grass pitches will be in a dry enough state to facilitate the relocating of the posts and the marking up of the pitch before Saturday.

Consequently we are implementing our contingency plan to host the game at Percy Park."

Bad news on Easter Day

Stan, Edward ”Percy” Holmes was admitted to hospital on Monday 26^{t h}March 2018 and was diagnosed as having acute myeloid leukaemia. He sadly died on Easter Saturday.

Stan was a great supporter of Park. Nicknamed “Percy” in his university days, it stuck with him most of his life.

He played for the first team apart from university and army service from the late 1940’s until the early 1960’s until work took him to London where he played for Catford Bridge and Bromley.

He served Park as Captain in 1959- 60 and was always a staunch supporter of the club, travelling across from Windermere on two or three times a season to lend his support to the team.

He will be a great miss to the club, and all those who knew him.

The game was called off this morning just as the bus was approaching the Tyne Tunnel, so on the positive side the squad will have a full training session with everyone there and the players will be able to watch all the 6 Nations matches on TV.

The forecast was dire, but there wasnt any snow overnight in Bradford as forecast. The below zero temeratures however meant that the pitches were unplayable.

The game will now take place on 28th April.
