Two first half tries were enough to see Park through for the win at Wallsend, in a game hampered by a bitingly raw wind.
PERCY PARK 35 - 24 GOSFORTH
This was a keenly contested cup tie which Park won in the second half after trailing 10 - 16 at the break. For the neutral, (and there were a few in the crowd on this non league Saturday), this was an entertaining and high scoring game, with both sides keen to spin the ball.
Table topping Billingham maintained their league position with a win at Preston Avenue, with Park staying in third place, but are now, seemingly out of the running for a potential promotion play off.
SUNDERLAND 27 - 23 PERCY PARK
With only injury time remaining Park led 23 - 20, an improbable scoreline for those who had witnessed the lack lustre first half display. But the home side stuck to their guns and rumbled over for a try to complete the double over a disappointed Percy Park.
