Our magnificent Colts, already League Champions and County Plate winners, capped an incredible campaign by defeating Redcar 62-19 at Preston Avenue on Sunday to remain unbeaten for the season.

Although player numbers have often been problematic, the lads have played some awesome rugby regularly racking up cricket scores with play that is simply fantastic to watch, ably led by skipper Josh Cox and vice-captain George Bogg.

As well as the players, the club owes a huge debt of gratitude to team manager Grant Taylor and coaches Phil Nicholson, Ankur Mehta, Mark Charlton and Rob Snow. Special thanks to Ben Thompson and John Beck and all of the parents and supporters who have helped out this season, it has been a real team effort

The whole Club is extremely proud of what you have all achieved. The post-match celebrations were well deserved!

Following a comprehensive 7-46 win at Novocastrians on Wednesday night, our magnificent Colts side wrapped up the league title with another superb performance at fierce rivals Rockcliff on Sunday, winning 10-57 to complete a league and cup double. With one more game to play, at home to Redcar this coming weekend (Sunday 3 May, KO 1pm), the goal is to remain unbeaten for the whole season.

This has been an outstanding campaign by the lads. Player numbers have been problematic but even sometimes having to field just thirteen players, they have played their hearts out, not just winning matches but playing a superlative attacking game that has simply been a joy to watch.

To make this Sunday an even more special day for a very special team, it would be wonderful if as many people as possible could attend to cheer on the team and share in their victory celebrations.

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PLAYERS, COACHES, PARENTS AND SUPPORTERS FOR AN INCREDIBLE ASCHIEVEMENT! The whole Club is immensely proud!

What's On This Weekend

This weekend sees the 1st XV travel to Consett to contest the Regional 2 North Play-off final. It will be a tough ask given that just a few weeks ago Park suffered a 53-48 loss at Amethyst Park so support for the boys will be absolutely vital. If you can travel, please support the team. KO is 3pm.

The winner will then take on either Pocklington or Morley who contest the Regional 2 North East final on Saturday, home advantage being decided by the team who finished higher in their respective league. Pocklington finished as runners-up to Scarborough (automatically promoted) with Morley finishing in fourth place. The winner of that game will then play the loser of the Regional 1 North East relegation play-off between  Middlesborough and York. The winner either stays or is promoted to Regional 1. Home advantage for that final game is dependant, apparemtly, on travelling mileage but how that is decided I know not.

Elsewhere, there is a huge game at Rockcliff on Sunday, KO 1.15 pm, when our Colts bid to win their league title following the midweek win over Novocastrians which has brought them to the brink of a league and cup double. All support for our unbeaten Colts side would be greatly appreciated.

The Lions travel to Novocastrians on Saturday, KO 3pm while the Panthers play their final league game of the season when they travel north to take on Berwick on Sunday, KO 2pm.

There will of course be the usual feast of televised football throughout the weekend in the clubhouse bars including on Saturday, KO 5.30pm, Arsenal vs Newcastle United.

ALL SUPPORT FOR OUR TEAMS WOULD BE MOST WELCOME

On the same evening the Men's 1st XV were being well beaten by Novocastrians in the County Plate Final, our unbeaten Colts side were facing one of thjeir toughest challenges of the season against the same opposition. However, it was a far different result at Sutherland Avenue. Our lads put one of their closest challengers for the league title to the sword with yet another display of magnificent attacking rugby. Leading a tight game 7-12 at half-time, our lads cut loose in the second half to win 7-46.

This coming weekend the lads can wrap up the league title when they take on fierce rivals Rockcliff at Hillheads, KO 1.15pm.

Well done to everyone involved and if you can, please support the lads on Sunday. GOOD LUCK PARK!

Tomorrow (Wednesday), our unbeaten Colts side travel to Novocastrians for a vital league game, KO at Novo's is 7pm. It is sad that the game clahes with the 1st XV's County Plate Cup Final against the same opponents at Preston Avenue.

The game is very much a title decider and victory, followed by a win at Rockcliff this coming Sunday, would complete a magnificent league and cup double for our lads. As well as the league title, the team wants to remain unbeaten foer the season.

If you have no plans to watch the seniors, why not pop along to Sutherland Avenue for what promises to be a memorable match.

GOOD LUCK LADS!
