There is a distinct lack of rugby this weekend with the 1st XV, the Panthers and the Colts enjoying rest weekends.

However, the Lions make the journey to Ryton RFC this coming Saturday, KO 3pm.

And don't forget, the 2026 Six Nations reaches its climax this Saturday with all three games being screened live at the Club in addition to a number of televised Premier League games.

On Wednesday evening, our magnificent unbeaten Colts took to the field at Ashington RFC to face Gosforth in the final of the County Plate and what a night it was, the lads running out 61-7 winners to win the clubs first piece of silverware this season.

Gosforth took the game to Park in the first twenty minutes but incredible defence kept the city side at bay before our lads cut lose with a devastating display of running rugby that yielded nine tries courtesy of Joe Nicholson, Ewan Charlton, George Bogg, a brace from Noah Smith and an incredible four from No 8 Josh Cox. Standoff George Bogg kicked eight conversions.

The whole club extend huge congratulations to the team. Thanks must go to the players, coaches and management for their commitment and dedication that has made the club so very proud.

A league and cup double awaits!

The trustees of the Percy Park Youth Rugby Trust would like to thank the late Frank Stewart and family for their generous donation to the charity. Frank was a Life Member of Percy Park RFC, an accolade  given only to a select  number who have given a life time of service to the club.

Frank, a member of the Ground Committee was seen at the club most Tuesdays and Saturdays working on the pitches or with paint brush in hand and had been a keen supporter of the Percy Park Youth Trust and Percy Park Rugby Football Foundation since they were formed in 1986 and 2015 respectively to raise funds in support of rugby. The Youth Trust over the last 40 years has provided financial support towards rugby kit, equipment, coaching and first aid courses and most recently helped to fund the post of Rugby Development Officer a role now taken on by the Newcastle Redbull Foundation.

Frank is greatly missed but his legacy will help sustain the future of mini and junior rugby for boys and girls at Percy Park.
