A brilliant start to the season from our Colts who have won their first three competitive games and sit proudly at the top of the league. After a tight opening game where they defeated close rivals Rockcliff 24-19, they have inflicted two big defeats at home to Novocastrians 43-17 and last weekend 12-47 at Redcar.

Team Manager Grant Taylor commented: “We have had a fantastic start to the season with three wins and confidence is building. We are still lower on player numbers than we would like but we have a solid core of lads putting in a huge effort for the club”.

After the trials and tribulations of last season this is wonderful news and huge congratulations to the players, coaches, parents and of course Grant for this excellent start to the new season.

The next game for the lads is this coming Wednesday, 1 October 2025 when they entertain Berwickshire in the County Cup, KO is 7.30 pm and on Sunday, 5 October they host Darlington in the National U18 Cup, KO TBC. All support would be most welcome.

Having given an update on pre-season for the senior men, it's time to turn our attention to the senior women ahead of their league campaign in NC 3 North (North), their opening game against Berwick on 21 September at Preston Avenue. Manager/Coach Mandy Wood has handed the reins on to husband Stu and I am indebted to him for this update. Pre-season is going well with Friday Night Development sessions attracting new players, those returning from injury and those who have been absent from the game. Numbers are good and the squad is working really hard to prepare for what will be a tough league season.

The aim is to hit the ground running hard in the league and keep that momentum going throughout the season to really push for promotion. The Panthers are an integral part of the Club, we wish them well.
