Percy Park Ist XV lost narrowly in the training game against Peebles last Saturday. In a game of 4 quarters, Peebles ran out eventual winners 17 - 10 scoring 3 tries to the home sides two.
Park's scorers were Jon Carlile and Craig Bartle.
The game gave the coaches a chance to look at several new players in a match environment, and were impressed with former colt Chris 'Tank' Reekie and a batch of Park's current Colts including scum half Ollie Gilmore.
Last night Park Lions took on Westoe Development and won 14 - 5. This was a close encounter with Nick Vickers opening the scoring for Park with a break through mid field from a well timed pass by fly half Andrew Dunn, who converted.
New comer James Ellis looked good and scored Park's second try again converted by Dunn. Ellis played well at Number 8 and will no doubt be featuring in the Park Ist XV in the not too distant future.
The Park pack put on a powerful display with Chris Reekie and Allan Blakey working well in the front row with the powerhouse in the second row of newly signed Gav Broderick and Giles Tipsword.
Behind the scrum both scrum halves used did well and Andrew Dunn performed well at fly half with ball in hand, although would probably have been a little disappointed with his kicking from hand.
This Saturday Park play in the 10s tournament at Druid Park with Gosforth, Northern, Wallsend and West Hartlepool TDSOB, on the newly installed 4g artificial pitch whish is to be used this season by Gosforth and the Newcastle Falcons Development XV. KO 1.30.

Two wins in the group stages set up a quarterfinal game against Seghill, which Park won 54 - 0. The semifinal was a closer affair against Sheffield, but Percy Park's defence was resolute and with match winners such as Liam Casey, Brett Sylph and David Griffiths, a final place was secured with a 15 - 0 win.
Park were hopefull of meeting tournament hosts Whitley Bay Rockcliff in the final, but the home side lost out against a "Phoenix" side made up from Durham University.
Percy Park won the final against Phoenix 32 - 0, with Adam Fidler being voted Park's player of the tournament by his colleagues.
Sorry for the late report, but I've been busy with the final arrangements for the Dinner Dance.
Park started brightly and took the lead after only 2 minutes with a well struck penalty by Brett Sylph. In fairness Park had most of the possession in the first half but couldn't make it count with two relatively easy penalties chances going begging.
