Three tries to one was the difference between the two sides today, although a last mininute attempt at a drop goal by Andrew Turner could have won it for the home side. Park out muscled a bigger Horden pack, and although Turner kicked 5 penalties to keep the Welfare Park side in the hunt, the visitors had the edge in the forward battle, and held out against the elements in the second half to retain top spot in Durham & Northumberland 1.

Park move to top of the table ahead of Hartlepool Rovers on points difference, after a sound win against Alnwick. The conditions were ideal for rugby and both sides contributed to a fast and entertaining game which Park won 30 - 0. Percy Park kave only conceded 1 try in the first 3 games and 8 points in total, amassing 112 in the points for column.

Park travelled to picturesque Ashbrooke, and provided their travelling support with some rays of sunshine, to maintain their unbeaten start to the season. Sunderland were hoping to erase the nightmare of their opening game against Hartlepool Rovers, and had influencial skipper Tony Irwin back, but Park led from the start, scoring 5 tries in their 37 - 5 win.
